This 17th century former coaching inn at the heart of the village is a warm, cosy venue with wood beams, flagstone floors and several open fireplaces. The single bar has four handpumps serving one regular ale and two guests, one erring on the strong side, plus Sam's cider from Winkleigh in summer. There is a discount food menu on Mondays, themed food nights and a popular Sunday roast. Apparently haunted, there is also a large Beer Beer Garden, Traditional Pub Games room and separate dining room. in the church opposite you will find the Devil's Stone that is turned every year on 5th November to ward off evil spirits.
