NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
A nationwide lockdown is currently in place in England, and you are required by law to stay at home. Hospitality venues can still provide food takeaway and delivery services, but can only sell alcohol by delivery service.
But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.
The Bull and Dragon has been a thatched country pub and coaching inn since about 1490. It sits next to the A386, between Hatherleigh and Torrington and is also at the end of the popular Tarka Trail cycle route. The bar is positioned centrally, with a Traditional Pub Games room to the left and restaurant to the right. Cosy low beams and inglenooks feature throughout with a log burner at the restaurant end. The friendly publicans, who acquired the pub from Punch Taverns in July 2014, tend to keep rotating beers from Exmoor and Otter. Bottled ales are also available. All food is home-cooked, with pies and stews their popular specialities. A recent feature is an attractive "Afternoon Tea for Two with Prosecco" deal in the afternoons of the last Saturday of each month (please book).
