Former Peach Pubs Duo Take On Second Pub with Star Pubs in £250,000 Revamp

Bex Wilkins and Sarah Robinson, former directors at Peach Pubs and now the well-regarded licensees behind The Wildmoor Oak in Bromsgrove, are expanding their footprint in the Midlands pub scene. The dynamic duo are set to relaunch The Plough Inn in Wollaston—marking their second leasehold with Star Pubs—following a substantial £250,000 refurbishment.

Set to reopen in early September, The Plough will boast a fresh new look, blending the charm of a traditional village pub with a more contemporary and welcoming feel.

“Our vision is to create a warm, high-quality pub that serves the needs of its local community,” says Bex. “With rising costs across the industry, we’re doubling down on quality and customer experience—great food, excellent drinks, and a proper village pub atmosphere.”

The refurbishment includes:

  • A full interior redecoration with stylish new furnishings
  • Separate front and back bars, plus a cosy lounge area for private dining
  • Upgraded toilets with improved lighting and flooring
  • A refitted kitchen to enhance the pub’s food offering
  • Outdoor seating for over 100 guests, featuring a large stretch tent for shaded dining and new bench seating

When it comes to drinks, guests can expect a solid lineup of lagers, cask ales (with plans to gain Cask Marque accreditation), premium spirits, fine wines, cocktails, and barista-style coffee. The food menu will focus on the pub classics—done exceptionally well.

The move is part of a broader five-year plan from Sarah and Bex to build a small portfolio of three to five exceptional pubs across the region.

“The Wildmoor Oak is a destination pub, and we want The Plough to be the heart of the local community in Wollaston,” adds Sarah. “Each of our pubs will be unique, but they’ll all share the same core values: quality, care, and community focus.”

Lee Dishington, investment manager at Star Pubs, says:

“We’re thrilled to be working with Bex and Sarah again. They’ve proven their passion and talent at The Wildmoor Oak, and we’re confident The Plough will thrive under their leadership. It’s going to be a fantastic community pub.”

Keep an eye out for the grand reopening of The Plough Inn this September—it promises to be a fantastic addition to the West Midlands pub scene.
